Innovation

“The innovations that have positively disrupted the world as we know it today have largely been pioneered by probing minds and boundless courage of young people; fresh out of school, eager to apply themselves, to experiment, to try out new things, to make mistakes and to learn from them”.

Innovation

Innovation and technological advancements across various sectors in Africa are on a rise and continue to have a positive impact on the continent. The vibrant startup ecosystem of innovators and entrepreneurs, digital connectivity, increased investment in technology, and a growing pool of skilled talent are contributing to the ongoing innovation and development.

By harnessing technology and innovative solutions, Africa has the potential to leapfrog and achieve significant progress, transforming economies and improving the lives of its people. At Future Perspectives, we understand the role innovation and technology play in the lives of the African youth and the need to ensure it continues to be at the forefront of conversations, priority and investments.

We will:

  • Lead and convene high-level regional policy discussions and thought leadership on key topics in innovation, science and technology

  • Bridge the skills deficiency gap by partnering with dynamic innovators on the continent delivering skills relevant to the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Advanced Robotics, Big Data, Internet of Things (IOT), 3D Printing, Block Chain & Drones, Renewable Energy and Clean Technologies and more

  • Spotlight and showcase innovations to accelerate discovery of innovations to facilitate innovation to quickly enter the marketplace

“Within the next two decades, Africa’s workforce will be the largest in the world. They are skilled and they are coming. As a result, more innovative disruptors will yet emerge to plug more of these gaps.”

It is through innovative disruptions that humans have managed to resolve their most complex challenges and stay ahead of the survival curve. Oftentimes, these ideas are championed by mavericks who find better, safer, and more cost-effective ways for us to live, do business, and govern; slight tweaks that improve our overall experience, and complete overhauls that lead us into new paths altogether.” (Prof. Yemi Osinbajo)
